LP21 is returning to in-person learning with their 32nd year of the Bomba & Plena Children’s Workshops. These intergenerational classes feature master teaching instructors, guest artists, and interactive lessons for children. This year’s theme is “Keeping Traditions and Paying It Forward.” Children will explore the traditions of Bomba & Plena while understanding the social and historical impacts of Puerto Rican Diaspora as it relates to our home in East Harlem. Kick Off is Saturday, October 16th, at Julia de Burgos Cultural Center. Classes will run each Saturday, until May 1st. Age range for BPCW classes are 10 months- 12 years.
