Bomba and Plena Community Workshops

LP21 offers in-person learning with the Bomba and Plena Community Workshops (BPCW)*. These intergenerational classes feature master teaching instructors, guest artists, and interactive lessons for children. The BPCW is LP21’s own community school for cultural arts learning. The Bomba and Plena Community Workshops, offered since 1989, are a staple program in the community, and offer engaging music, dance, and creative arts classes to students and adults of all ages.

BPCW has evolved as the place where students can come to learn and embrace powerful modes of self-expression, cultural awareness, and a sense of community, through active and dynamic participation in Bomba and Plena traditions.

BPCW youth classes are held each Saturday beginning October 19th and culminate in the students’ Graduation Performance June 1st!
