As part of its 35th anniversary action plan, Los Pleneros de la 21 is undergoing an aggressive but organic transformation as we look forward to the ways we will better serve our community during the next 35. Part of that strategic capacity-building initiative is ensuring we are connecting and communicating with our Gente in the ways they feel most confortable, and includes our digital platforms: social media, e-newsletter, and—WEBSITE. Our new Internet portal represents part of our commitment toward that enhanced vision.

In the Puerto Rican tradition of Cabezudos (bighead), where a distinguished and appreciated individual is honored with a larger-than-life sculpted replica of their head, the Bomba and Plana community wanted to recognize Juan “Juango” Gutiérrez for the intellectual and emotional support he has provided since he gave himself to the task of offering cultural programs in our area of the diaspora.
